- Safe zone: keep captions inside the centre 80% of the width, and clear of the bottom 300px where the channel name and subscribe button sit. Check your framing.
- Font size: 60–80px at 1080×1920. Smaller than that is unreadable on a phone held at arm's length.
- Words per line: 2–3. Long lines force the eye to track sideways instead of staying on the action.
- Contrast: white text with a black outline survives any background. Plain white text disappears on bright footage.
